Alabama StormReady - Tuscaloosa County

On May 24, 2001, Tuscaloosa County became the first community in Alabama to be recognized by the National Weather Service as StormReady. The images below are photographs from the recognition ceremony held in the parking lot of Shelton State Community College, just outside the path of the devastating tornado of December 16, 2000.
